IstarGPS was just an idea in early 2008. While designing the navigation systems for SPEEDBOAT, a 30 meter ocean racing yacht, the stakeholders - Stan Honey, Eric Steinberg, Matt Wachowicz and early assistance from Mark Rudiger, brainstormed what features the ultimate GPS would have. Accuracy, responsiveness, sensitivity, wide power handling and the best interfacing on the market all topped the list. IstarGPS was born.
Our mission is to provide high quality GPS solutions for vessels and vehicles that require sophisticated interfacing and performance. Our modular design ensures that when technology leaps ahead or our customers needs change, so too can IstarGPS.
Our roadmap includes NMEA 2000 (CANbus), Ethernet display, serial data and NMEA multiplexing and digital I/O functions.
